Celebrating 50 Years of Service!
“The feeling of having shared in a common peril is one element in the powerful cement which binds us.” - Alcoholics Anonymous
A safe, supportive community dedicated to empowering men in recovery. We provide a structured, affordable living environment and AA-based programming to help individuals rebuild their lives, achieve sobriety, and transition successfully back into society.
Established in 1975 by the founder, Harold Richards, this transitional living facility was a pioneering effort in the realm of sober living. Its primary mission is to provide a lifeline to low-bottom alcoholic men struggling with the disease and recovery. By offering a safe, structured environment and AA-based support, the facility aims to help these individuals overcome addiction, stabilize their lives, and ultimately reintegrate into society.
The living facility is overseen by a dedicated committee of seasoned and recovering volunteers, each committing two months of their year, forming the backbone of the facility's operations. These fellows selflessly manage the business affairs, ensure smooth operations, and create a supportive environment for the residents year round. Their commitment and hard work play a crucial role in the success of the facility.
Our program offers a unique and supportive environment for men seeking to rebuild their lives. This four-month opportunity provides a safe and encouraging space to focus on recovery, personal growth, and securing a stable future.
Imagine living in a comfortable home with up to five other men who are also committed to their recovery. Our facility is designed to foster a sense of community and support, with dedicated spaces for meetings, relaxing, and enjoying meals. We even have a backyard for some fresh air and a fully equipped kitchen with professional-grade appliances, perfect for those who enjoy cooking.
Here's what you can expect...
Focus on Recovery: We emphasize the importance of consistent recovery efforts. Residents are required to attend at least five AA meetings per week, providing a strong foundation for long-term sobriety.
Gainful Employment: Maintaining full-time employment is a crucial aspect of our program. This not only provides financial stability but also instills a sense of responsibility and purpose.
Shared Responsibilities: We believe in fostering a sense of community. Each resident contributes to the smooth running of the house by taking on a designated cooking night and household chores.
Respectful Cohabitation: Living with others requires mutual respect and understanding. We expect all residents to maintain a positive and supportive environment for each other.
In Summary:
Term: Four-month program
Rent: Paid weekly
Employment: Full-time
Meetings: Five per week
Curfew: Midnight every night
Other: Cook, clean, show respect!
